Mieszko and Dobrawa Denar

I'm not entirely convinced that a coin specifically called the Mieszko and Dobrawa Denar was minted between 965 and 992, as early Polish numismatics remain murky. Mieszko I, the first ruler of the Piast dynasty, did convert to Christianity around 966 under Dobrawa's influence, which could have inspired Christian motifs on later issues. If such a denar existed, it might have featured a cross or similar symbol, reflecting that cultural pivot.

Yet, reliable evidence points to the first Polish coins emerging under Bolesław I in the early 11th century, possibly as imitations of German denars. Anything earlier is speculative, lost to the fog of medieval record-keeping. I've seen fakes passed off as relics from this era, which gets old. Perhaps the real curiosity lies in how these myths persist.
