I've examined countless medieval coins, and what stands out about the supposed Jadwiga Grosz is its potential link to a queen who doubled as a saint. Jadwiga ruled Poland from 1384 to 1399, and while coins were certainly struck during her reign—likely silver denars reflecting the era's currency—I'm not convinced a coin specifically named "Jadwiga Grosz" existed as described. The grosz denomination emerged later, possibly inspired by Bohemian groschen, but records from that time are sparse and often unreliable. That said, if such a coin did circulate, it might have featured simple crosses or royal symbols, typical of late 14th-century Polish minting. We don't know the exact mintage or designs for certain; fires and wars have erased much of that history. It's a reminder that not every numismatic tale holds up under scrutiny.
