Our Editorial Mission
Coin Value Tracker publishes research, guides, and market commentary for coin collectors and precious metals investors. Our goal is simple: give readers accurate, useful information to make confident decisions about the coins in their collection or portfolio. We write for collectors by collectors, and we take accuracy seriously.
Editorial Independence
Our editorial content is independent of commercial relationships. We participate in affiliate programs (most notably the eBay Partner Network) that pay a commission on qualifying purchases made through links on our site. These commissions help fund our research and content, but they do not influence which coins we write about or what we say about them. When a page contains affiliate links, we disclose that clearly.
How We Research
Our articles and coin records draw on a combination of authoritative sources:
- Numista — a community-verified coin catalog used worldwide for specifications (weight, diameter, composition, mintage, dates).
- PCGS CoinFacts & PriceGuide — imagery and retail pricing for US coins.
- eBay Browse API — live and recently-completed market transactions to reflect what collectors are actually paying.
- Spot price feeds — real-time gold, silver, platinum, and palladium prices from commodities data providers, updated throughout the trading day.
- Historical references — the Red Book, auction archives (Heritage, Stack's Bowers, Great Collections), and published numismatic journals inform our editorial commentary.
Our Use of AI
We use AI-assisted research and drafting tools to help produce draft articles and coin profiles at scale. Every AI-assisted draft is reviewed against primary sources before publication, and our editorial team is responsible for the accuracy of everything we publish. AI is a tool in our workflow, not a replacement for editorial judgment.
When we mention specific prices, mintages, grading standards, or market claims, we check them against the data sources listed above. If you spot an error, please email editorial@coinvaluetracker.com and we'll correct it.
Corrections Policy
If we publish something inaccurate, we correct it. Factual corrections are made inline with an editor's note noting the date of the correction. We do not silently delete or rewrite content after publication. If a coin record has outdated pricing or specification data, we update it when we're notified or when our data refreshes.
Not Investment Advice
Everything on Coin Value Tracker is for informational and educational purposes. Coin values and precious metal prices fluctuate. Past performance is not indicative of future results. We are not licensed financial advisors, and nothing on this site should be treated as personalized investment advice. Always do your own research and, where appropriate, consult a qualified professional before making significant purchases.
Reader Feedback
We're a small team and we actually read reader email. If you have feedback, corrections, coin tips, or questions about how we cover a topic, reach out: editorial@coinvaluetracker.com.
