This coin entered circulation shortly after the 1873 currency reform, which replaced the old riksdaler with the krona. The obverse shows King Oscar II's portrait, his features rendered with the crisp detail typical of Swedish minting. On the reverse, a simple crown and value reflect the era's straightforward design ethos. The Swedish State Mint in Stockholm produced these, though exact figures are murky—records from that period aren't always reliable.
