1905 Mexico 10 Centavos

The 1905 10 Centavos from Mexico was struck in silver at the Mexico City mint, using planchets possibly sourced from melted colonial coins, a practical reuse that kept costs down during economic shifts.

That unique mintmark, a simple "M" for Mexico City, set it apart from earlier issues without the full assay marks seen on some predecessors. It's a modest design: the obverse shows the Mexican coat of arms with an eagle perched on a cactus, while the reverse lists the denomination and date.

Mintage figures are murky; records from that era were often incomplete or destroyed in later upheavals. Still, it's a solid example of early 20th-century Mexican currency.

Plenty of these turn up in collections, but don't call it rare unless you're selling something.
