These coins, typically weighing around 3.38 grams and measuring 20-22 millimeters in diameter, bore the king's bust on the obverse and the Spanish coat of arms on the reverse. Struck in cities like Seville or Toledo, they reflected the era's crude hammering techniques, which left many with off-center strikes or irregular edges. That's if they survived circulation; most didn't.
